We got to dissect a sheep heart in lab last night and OMG! That was The.Coolest.Thing.Ever. I’ve always had a fascination with the heart but last night just made my interest peak tenfold. So far this has been my favorite moment in both of my A&P classes. I wish we had more than one night to study it.
Hey girl, I just read your posts, and they sound so much like me! I did finish school (a finance degree--WTH was I thinking?) 10+ years ago, but lots of things change in 10 years, and now I'm switching gears, so you can stop beating yourself up about that! And I had a similar break with a very good friend--fortunately we were able to patch things up after a year long "break." I'm so sorry for your loss; that is heartbreaking and unfair and tragic. I'm sure she knew you cared about her, and given time ya'll would have worked through the hurt. And I can't make it through an episode of Grey's Anatomy without gagging, which my dh loves to tease me about. But in clinicals? Poop, pee, vomit, blood, it's all just part of the job. Somehow it doesn't bother me. Impatience? OMG. That is my middle name. Once I decide on something, I just want it to happen dammit! :) And I went the ADN route as well, and I coudn't be happier. Lots and lots of hands on training with ADN. I'll let my employer pay for that BSN once i'm working. Enjoy A&P! Nothing in nursing school has come close to being as difficult as the material we studied in A&P.
